Introduction

Purpose of this documentation

This documentation attempts to provide a brief introduction to the functionality and modules that DataCatalog contains. Among other things, Listings, Organizations, the Data Dictionary and the CKAN API capabilities are explained. Much of the basic functionality is also present in DataPlatform. Detailed information about Dataplatform can be found under the tab DataPlatform.

This documentation describes in particular the additional functionality of DataCatalog. DataCatalog makes, just like Dataplatform, uses the open source software CKAN. This is the most widely used software for open data environments worldwide. The CKAN environment within Data Catalog has been expanded with additional extensions and modules such as DCAT, the Data Dictionary, Definitions, and the Data Store (API).
